Exchange Programme for Writers' and Translators
One objective of the project is increasing the mobility of professional writers and translators and thus widening their knowledge of literary diversity in the region. This objective is supported by the exchange program for writers and translators. The following literary houses are involved in the exchange programme: Writers' House in Central Finland, Jyväskylä, Writers' House in Kotka (Finland), Writers' House in Nida (Lithuania), Writers' House in Käsmu (Estonia), The Danish Centre for Writers and Translators. So, the goal of the programme is to facilitate the exchange of writers within the Baltic Sea region and to create interaction with local communities as well as to facilitate wider co-operation between the Writers' houses and the writers themselves.
During the project 18 scholarships were granted for professional translators and writers. The scholarships were granted as follows: The Danish Centre for Writers and Translators (Ann Must, Rasa Cergeliene, Maarja Kangro, Doris Kareva, Maike Wetzel), Writers' House in Central Finland, Jyväskylä (Triin Soomets, Violeta Palcinskaite, Toomas Raudam, Indrek Hirv), Writers' House in Kotka (Jonas Bruun, Reet Kudu), Writers' House in Nida (Mikko Muranen, Olev Remsu), Writers' House in Käsmu (Hannele Huovi, Anne Hänninen, Mark Mallon, Kasper Thomsen, Ginatre Adomaityte). |
